Small businesses ARE the backbone of the American economy... but that is just the tip of the iceberg. From selling products/services that improve the lives of their end-user, to making captivating marketing campaigns that make us laugh (or cry), Giving back to the community to empowering their employees so much that they, in turn, have a positive ripple effect on all of the people they encounter. Small businesses make such an impact on their community! The Impact Award is an award given to a nominated business that exemplifies what it means to make a positive impact on their community! The Impact Awards Consist of Three RoundsThe Impact Awards showcase how businesses make an impact on their communities! Therefore, we involve the community! Round 1: Nominations — Anyone can nominate their favorite company. Round 2: Applications — The nominees are then invited to fill out an actual application. At this point, the team over at Grow Disrupt choose the finalists. Round 3: Determining the Winners — There are two prizes given away, "The Grand Prize" and "People's Choice". The Grand Prize is determined by a panel of extremely influencial small business owners. People's Choice is determined by fan votes! *** Voting will open on September 1st Both the group of finalists and the winners are chosen based on how well they showcase their impact on the community via these factors: Their Product/Service (How they make their money)Their Marketing CampaignsTheir LeadershipCompany CultureTheir Community OutreachPublic Relations Since the Impact Awards showcase how impactful a small business can be on an entire community, our team at Grow Disrupt was very particular about the venue. We know the awards ceremony needs to embody that same impactful spirit! Lo and behold, The San Antonio Foodbank’s event spaces do just that! Stephanie Scheller (known as The Impact Authority) and owner of Grow Disrupt said, “Not only are the spaces at The San Antonio Food Bank beautiful, but their catering services (Catalyst Catering) make a serious impact on the community!” Catalyst Catering is a social enterprise of the San Antonio Food Bank where the profit generated helps fund the San Antonio Food Bank’s Culinary Training Program, dedicated to educating and training those experiencing homelessness, disabilities, and underemployment in the culinary arts. According to Catalyst Catering, “ Through the San Antonio Food Bank’s transformative 18-week course, individuals are taught basic kitchen and culinary skills, safety and sanitation procedures, and gain hands on training needed to achieve self-sufficiency and meaningful employment in the food service industry, to in turn, nourish those in need.” Talk about making an impact! Tickets are non-refundableWe love furry friends, but please leave them at home for the safety of your pets and the attendeesThe venue is at The San Antonio Food Bank. The specific location is a beautiful outdoor pavilion. In case of inclimate weather, the event will be moved indoors, to the ballroom!We are watching the COVID-19 Numbers closely. Depending on the numbers, we may require specific safety instructions.
