Welcome to the Grant County Cancer Coalition's 5K Run/Walk and Family Mile--the RIBBON RUN! Welcome to the Grant County Cancer Coalition's 5K Run/Walk and Family Mile--the RIBBON RUN! We hope to color the county during our race and bring awareness to the many cancers that affect our friends and neighbors in Grant County, Wisconsin.  We ask that each runner dress in the color(s) representing the cancer(s) that have affected their lives and/or the lives of their friends, family, and neighbors.  Please be creative and please be colorful!   This year, we would specifically like to highlight the impact of Leukemia in our communities.  Leukemia is the 10th most commonly diagnosed cancer for Americans, and it holds the same spot here in Grant County, WI.  Leukemia is the most common cancer of children and teens, but certain types of Leukemia predominately affect adults, too. Please add a little orange to your outfit for this year's Ribbon Run to help us honor all of those that have successfully defeated Leukemia and to remember those we have lost. RACE INFORMATION Pre-registration for the Ribbon Run can be completed through Eventbrite.  We will also accept same day registrations.  Early bird, discounted registration is available to anyone registering as part of a team prior to September 12th! Festivities will begin and end at the Crops Building on the Grant County Fairgrounds in Lancaster.  The routes for the 5K Run/Walk and the Family Mile are on paved streets within the City of Lancaster.  We will have a clock, but we will not be individually recording times.  No pets, please. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 8:00-9:00 AM   Registration & T-Shirt Pick-up at the Crops Building 9:00 AM           Ribbon Run 5K Run/Walk Start 9:05 AM           Ribbon Run Family Mile Start 10:00 AM         Award Presentation and Raffle Drawings POST-RACE FUN Prizes will be awarded to the top 5K racers overall, as well as an award for the Best Dressed Ribbon Runner!  Complimentary refreshments will also be available after the race.
