Join us for a beach cleanup! While our beaches appear clean, there is lots of microtrash and plastic pollution that we need your help to get We'd like to thank our sponsor, Danae Aballi, for hosting this public cleanup!REQUIRED: waivers must be submitted before participation in event. Please be prepared to show confirmation email or screenshot of completed waiver upon event check-in. We will provide bags, gloves, buckets, trash grabbers, and we will have hand sanitizer available for after. If you have your own bucket or trash grabber, we invite you to bring it! We encourage closed toe shoes for safety/liability but people can go barefoot at their own risk. Bring plenty of water in a reusable bottle, wear sunscreen, and dress for the weather. We strongly discourage use of any single use plastic at our beach cleanups. We will begin with a safety orientation and give you guidance where to pick up. Our chapter will collect data about the trash picked up, and total weights will be collected too. Please pay attention to parking signs on streets near The Wedge. You can navigate to West Jetty Park at 2300 Channel Rd, Newport Beach, CA. Look for the blue Surfrider tent out on the sand upon arrival! COVID-19 NOTICE: Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.
