The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along historical trails. The Alum Rock Park Rangers are hosting a FREE 60-minute guided hike along Penitencia Creek Trail. This low difficulty hike is approximately 1.5 mile and perfect for all ages and skill levels. Park rangers will educate hikers on the natural and cultural history of the park, wildlife, and seasonal flora and fauna along the deep box canyon. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable closed-toed walking or hiking shoes, and bring plenty of water and snacks. Please have a face mask available with you. This hike is not wheelchair accessible. The meeting location for this hike will be at the Log Cabin Picnic Site next to the upper parking lot of Alum Rock Park on Penitencia Creek Road at 9:50 a.m. every Sunday, starting August 22, 2021. Please register for this free event at least 24 hours in advance. Attendance is capped at 15 participants per event. No walk ins available.
