FDOT To Host Public Hearing On Tamiami Trail Improvements

FORT MYERS, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One invites the public to a hearing on Thursday, Aug. 19, to discuss proposed safety improvements on U.S. 41 (South Tamiami Trail) in Fort Myers. The project limits begin south of Hickory Drive and continue north to Emerson Square Boulevard. The project proposes several access management changes to improve vehicular safety. The hearing will present information and obtain input on the project design. A 5:30 p.m. open house will precede the 6 p.m. public hearing presentation. Public comments will be accepted immediately following the presentation. The public may attend either in person at the Estero Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd., Estero, online via GoToWebinar, or over the phone. A recording of the public hearing presentation and public comments, as well as project exhibits, will also be available online. Comments postmarked or received by Aug. 30 will be included in the public record (submit to Project Manager Sean Pugh, District One, Southwest Area Office, 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL, 33913; 239-225-1925 or [email protected] or via the comment form on the project website http://swflroads.com/us41/hickorytoemersonsquare/public_notices.html).
