Press release from the Howard County Government: 08/14/2021 An adult female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Columbia early Saturday. At approximately 3:37 a.m., a 2017 BMW X1 was traveling northbound on Route 29 approaching Rivers Edge Road when it struck an adult female who was in the roadway. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the BMW remained at the scene and was uninjured. Police continue to investigate the collision. No charges have been filed. Route 29 northbound between Johns Hopkins Road and Rivers Edge Road was closed for approximately three hours. ### This press release was produced by the Howard County Government.
