Long Valley Accountant Charged With Theft By Deception

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Washington Township Police Department charged an unidentified accountant from Long Valley for reportedly collecting monies from a client to perform tax services, but never filing the documents with the IRS. The department announced on Monday that on Aug. 12 it charged the unnamed Long Valley man with theft by deception, after they say he took $3,100 in July from a client - also unidentified - to amend his tax return. Lt. Mark Niemynski reported in a news release for the police department that after investigating, the Washington Township Detective Bureau found the accountant never filed the amendment with the IRS.
