Join Imagine Farms at Pinecrest Gardens to learn methods of vertical hydroponic farming, and stick around to taste locally grown greens! Join Lisa Merkle, Co-Founder of Imagine Farms in an interactive conversation and tasting of Leafy Greens harvested fresh from the Indoor Vertical Hydroponic Farm located in Little Haiti, Miami. She will share her insider industry perspective; how the international indoor and vertical farming movement is reshaping the agricultural landscape, complex food system and our local community. Participants will experience the vibrant greens and robust flavors that result from precise growing conditions with a tasting of salad greens, herbs, and baby brassicas grown on the farm. Workshop fee is $25.00 per person and includes tasting! Pinecrest Gardens, South Florida’s Cultural Arts Park, is a premier venue for the arts, education, environmental conservation and preservation. On any given day one can attend a concert or play, visit the Hibiscus Gallery, tour the 14-acres of native forested wetland, tropical hardwood hammock and native cypress slough or take a class in art or horticulture. The park attracts over 150,000 visitors each year and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in October 2011, making it historically significant on a local, state and national level.
