Principal Dr. Mike Jacobson and Richards High School welcomed several new faculty members for the 2021-2022 school year. The new staff members include math teacher Joe Bailey who earned a bachelor's degree from St. Xavier University; physical education teacher Crystal Castillo, who earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree from Robert Morris University and a master's degree from Calumet College; family and consumer science teacher Katie Comparin, who earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master's degree from Governors State University. Also, English Language Learner teacher Olivia Cooper, who earned a bachelor's degree from Governors State Univesity and master's degrees from Benedictine University, Concordia University Chicago, and DePaul University; art teacher Kelly Curtin, who earned a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University and a master's degree from Lewis University; academic interventionist Katie Insley, who earned a bachelor's degree from Governors State University and a master's degree from Benedictine University. Also, physical education teacher Tommy Makuch, who earned a bachelor's degree from DePaul University; math teacher Jake Moran, who earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University; Dr. Don Pratl, who earned a bachelor's degree from Lewis University, a master's degree from Governors State University, and a PhD from Capella University. Also, counselor Vaughan Talbert, who earned a bachelor's degree from DePaul University and a master's degree from Concordia University; and, Aaron Vermedal, who earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Northern Illinois University.
