Hi there! I am a disabled man looking for a weekend assistant to help me with all activities of daily living. About me. I am a 55 year old disabled man who uses a wheelchair to move around in the world. I am happily married, employed full time. I joke around a lot. I live in a busy household. I have a great team of assistants, and I am looking for a weekend person. The shift is 7 am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is some flexibility in this schedule, if needed. What does a typical weekend look like? You will assist me to get up in the morning. I have a ceiling lift installed in my bedroom and my bathroom, so it makes this task much easier. I need assistance with using the restroom, taking a bath, grooming, dressing, getting me in my wheelchair, eating breakfast, then off to enjoy the day. Sometimes we will go for a drive in my wheelchair accessible van, sometimes we will stay home and watch a movie or classic television, program my amateur radios (I will teach you how!) take my dog for a walk, have some lunch, drink some coffee, compose some emails, research some state and federal policies, swim in my backyard pool, or some other adventure. After dinner you will assist me in getting ready for bed. There is light housekeeping, laundry food prep and cleanup along the way, but most of the day we get to hang out andfchill. We have two dogs, and they pretty much rule the roost. If you love them, they will love you back unconditionally, and they will snuggle you and give you all the doggy hugs you need. We offer medical insurance for full timers, and life insurance, accident and sickness policies for part timers. We strive to make it fun to work here. No previous experience necessary, we will train the right person, but if you have experience in personal attendant care, that is a plus. You must be able to follow verbal directions given in English, be able to learn a routine, and be flexible when the routing changes.
