Concord And Capital Region Food Pantries Net 2 Tons Of Food

CONCORD, NH — More than two tons of food was distributed to Concord and the capital region social services agencies last week. On Aug. 10, Capital Region Food Program distributed the nonperishable items to food pantries and churches as part of the organization's effort to ensure people in need receive assistance. Partner agencies include Blueberry Express Day Care, the Boscawen Congregational Food Pantry, the Boys & Girls Club of Central NH, CenterPoint Church Food Pantry, Christ the King Food Pantry, Epsom Food Pantry, the Friends of Forgotten Children, Gospel Light Food Pantry, Merrimack Valley Day Care, Open Door Community Kitchen, Salvation Army, St Paul's Church Food Pantry, Suncook/Allenstown Community Action Program, and West Congregational Church. Items included canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, cereals, and pasta as well as soups. The food is distributed at no cost to the agencies.
