MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a convicted robber who is also wanted by the New Hampshire Department of Corrections after not reporting back to his transitional halfway house. Michael Wells, 55, a registered sex offender and convicted robber, is wanted on a bank robbery charge after an incident at Citizens Bank on Elm Street on Thursday. Police accused the suspect of handing a teller a note, demanding money, saying he was armed with a gun. The suspect then fled. "Manchester police were able to identify the suspect as Wells, who had walked away from the Calumet House earlier this week," Heather Hamel, a spokeswoman for the department, said. "The NH Department of Corrections also has a warrant for his arrest, in connection with his escape."
