First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 90 Low: 61. Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: PG&E shuts off power to households throughout the year for maintenance and fire protection. These are called Public Safety Power Shutoffs or PSPS. The utility said it may shut off power in several communities near the Dixie Fire in the coming days. Shutoffs are possible Tuesday and Wednesday in 16 counties, including several in and around the Sacramento Region. (ABC10) No matter how you feel about the politics behind the US leaving Afghanistan, the stories of the Sacramentans with family in the country are difficult. Many fear they will never see their families again and those who are in communication with their families share stories of despair. (ABC10 & FOX40) A Sacramento man has been arrested in Santa Rosa on felony weapons charges. Isaiah Saunders, 22 of Sacramento, was booked into jail on charges of felony possession of having a loaded firearm in a vehicle and felony possession of a concealed firearm. After a routine traffic stop, police smelled "freshly burnt marijuana" prompting a search of the vehicle which turned up a .45 caliber handgun with an 11 bullet magazine with one round in the chamber. (ABC10) Folsom High football opens on the road this week at Monterey Trail, the last team to beat them in regulation play back in 2019 when teams were last meeting on the field. Though the Bulldogs look like the better team on paper this year, the team and coach have a lot of respect for Monterey Trail "due to the discipline by their coaches and players. They're patient." according to Bulldog coach Paul Doherty. (Folsom Telegraph)WWE is returning to Sacramento this fall. The Golden 1 Center will host Monday Night Raw on October 18th.
