ELMHURST, IL – Two people got upset early Friday morning when a clerk at an Elmhurst convenience store told the woman she could not use the men's restroom, police said. About 3 a.m. at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave., both people became verbally aggressive with the clerk and punched the plastic barrier at the counter, causing it to strike the employee, according to a police report. They then knocked over a display and a food warming stand, police said. The suspects then left in a white, mid-sized SUV, heading east on North, the report said. The woman was described as black, heavyset, having short orange hair and wearing a purple dress. The other person was described as black, having long hair (possibly dreadlocks) and a thin build, and wearing a cropped T-shirt reading "Try me." The second person's gender was listed as unidentified.
