Chicago Sky GM-Head Coach James Wade celebrated his 46th birthday with an 87-85 overtime upset victory over the defending champion Seattle Storm. The win was the 43rd win for Wade, moving him into first place on the Sky all-time coaching wins list. The Sky overcame an 18-8 turnovers disadvantage and a 9-3 steals deficit to gain the win. Wade stated, "I think this gives us a boost of confidence to where if we can keep our head on correctly and not get bottled down by distractions, then we can win these types of games. The Sky were led by Kahlead Copper with 19 points. Four others had double digits, including Diamond DeShields (18), Candace Parker (12) and Allie Quigley (17). Doing he damage off the bench, Quigley hot five three-pointers.Courtney Vandersloot had 11 assists. Jewell Loyd paced the Storm with 26 points. The Storm were playing without Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart. The victory brought the Sky to 11-10 on the season. They currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference. They moved into fifth place overall in the WNBA. The Sky returns to action Tuesday against the Dallas Wings at home.
