CHICAGO — Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle's daughter-in-law is facing charges connected to the slaying of a Georgia woman earlier this summer. Police from Stockbridge, a southeast suburb of Atlanta, said Ronisha Preckwinkle, 40, is charged with murder, tampering with evidence and false imprisonment. Ronisha is married to Preckwinkle's son, Kyle, but the Chicago Sun-Times reported the couple separated earlier this year. Police say Ronisha aided two men, including one she was living with at the time, in kidnapping and murdering 23-year-old Mirsha Victor. One of the men, Dennis Lane, is facing a necrophilia charge in addition to murder, false imprisonment and tampering with evidence, police said. Ronisha is accused of helping Lane and Cleounsee Fisher remove evidence of the killing and dispose of the young woman's body. Kyle Preckwinkle told the Sun-Times he believes his wife is innocent. Toni Preckwinkle could not be reached for comment Monday.
