CARLSBAD, CA — A Carlsbad nurse has been named BrightStar Care's West Nurse of the Year. Tina Seever of BrightStar Care Carlsbad received the regional award Thursday at the Carlsbad office. "I was overwhelmed with emotion when I walked into our office and realized I had won Nurse of the Year," Seever said. "I am beyond grateful to my clients' families for nominating me and to my BrightStar Care team for putting on such an amazing reveal event to celebrate my honor. The past year has been tough for so many families, but moments like this remind me why I'm in this field, because providing care to those in most need is my true passion in life." Seever was nominated by her client's daughter for the "unparalleled empathy, care and patience" she provided her mother during the six months she served as her at-home nurse, said Dan Sweiger, owner and president of BrightStar Care Carlsbad. "Tina's care allowed the client to gain independence and get back on her feet after suffering a heart infection that required months of intense treatment," Sweiger said. "The past year and a half have been difficult, but Tina continues to show up and provide her clients with profound physical care and emotional support. She's an overall bright light in this world and BrightStar Care Carlsbad is so honored to have her on our team."
