Description

My sweet Meyers parrot needs a new, migraine -free owner. Jasper is a friendly, healthy, talking 8 y.o. boy Meyers who talks and loves to be pet and cuddled. He gives kisses by clicking his beak, and calls himself a "kissy bird" when he's content in his cage, possibly chewing up wood. Jasper is so friendly he runs over near me and hangs upside down, flailing to grab me with a foot, until i pick him up. I can hold him on his back in my hand and kiss his toes. He's got a great personality and deserves someone who can give him lots of playtime. Jasper is beautifully feathered, with yellow forehead, epaulettes, and ankles. His back, tail, and wings are grey, and his belly is a vivid kelly green shading to turquoise. He eats pellets, fruit, and veggies enthusiastically and wants to share his love by regurging. Jasper makes fabulous 'jungle robot' noises, beeps, clicks, whirs and whistles. Unfortunately, his whistled alarm call and ringing contact call are shrill and cause me ear pain when I have a migraine. I'm working to manage these headaches, but I get them often. I don't want to scold Jasper for making normal bird noises and feel badly if I jump or scold when he whistles anxiously (when I'm ill). He isn't excessively loud or obnoxious. It's just a bad combination with my terrible headaches. Jasper loves to hang out with me on knee or hand, enjoys petting, head, and neck scritches. He speaks a few phrases when playing in his cage, and will click at you if you kiss his beak. He can get maxed out when jealous or surprised, and then will pin his orange eyes and nip. Jasper hates face masks and will nip you if you forget you are wearing one and pet him. If you are not wearing a mask, he wants to be on you, bobbing his head, gurgling, and being fussed over or just hanging out and preening or dozing while you read. Jasper has a sturdy well equipped cage and playgym, food, and a variety of toys. I do ask a reasonable rehoming fee since he's a handsome healthy guy and is looking for a commitment. He needs someone used to handling bigger birds and prepared to give him hands-on and passive attention. Jasper will be a wonderful addition to your home if you don't have bad headaches. He's stayed sweet through my indisposition, and wants a fun owner to love.
