Description
Hi there,
I’m looking to start a jazz-fusion group.
I am a younger (20 year old), endorsed, professional bassist (bass guitar and upright) that has played bass for 11 years. I studied bass at Berklee College of Music, and was taught by some of the greats (John Patitucci, Lincoln Goines, Anthony Wellington, Victor Wooten).
Since my return home, the pandemic has dwindled my ability to gig and so I’m looking to put together a project that will gig and make some good money. I don’t want this to be your average bar gigging band. I have connections in the area, mostly pre pandemic as I studied in Boston for a bit. I would like to play traditional uptempo jazz, fusion, progressive fusion, funk fusion and some blues charts along with writing some of our own charts.
If you think you would be a good fit and are willing to write please let me know. Reading is a huge plus, along with knowing theory.
Think Wayne Shorter, Yellowjackets, Herbie Hancock, Michael Pipoqhuina, Wojtek Pilichowski, and such.
I have a professional home studio to work out of in the Big Bend area (Waukesha county). Back line provided minus keyboard/synths.
I’m ideally looking for a drummer, pianist, and guitarist.
Please reach out if you think this is worth your while and send some samples of past work.
Thanks,
Jon
