Description
I play piano and keys. An intermediate player to play in a danceable variety rock band. Rock, pop, funky, country fun. No jazz. No wizard but every song I say I can do will be on the money and I don't recall ever telling the band I can't do a song in our genre. I can sing lead and backup vocals/harmonies. I am 54, male. I've been playing for 30+ years on bass and keys and singing. I know how to engage a crowd and create/maintain a fun vibe. To keep the fun smile on my face the whole time even when I don't want to. I don't stare at the person who missed a note which we ALL do (miss a note). I just curse at them inside while smiling. :) Lets handle this logically. Please tell me about the band and abilities, tell me a short sample of the songs you do to get a flavor. Tell me whatever you want to share and want to accomplish. Basic and short. Can be two sentences. Then I know what I am "interviewing" for and can decide if I'm interested to "apply". Please don't first ask for all my info first, details, pictures and any video promo stuff. I have never sent an application and applied for a job that I don't know what it is first. I think I've provided enough to start the conversation. Easy going and fun. Allergic to childish drama. I'm intentionally being wordy with detail so you can pass me by quickly or take a chance and contact me. "Danceable variety" meaning doing gigs at places where the people want to dance and sing along. Fun bars/clubs, weddings, private parties. I love classic rock but don't want to play Bad Company and in between each song 2 burnout chicks in the back of the pool hall that we are playing, shooting pool, with Foghat t-shirts keep yelling out for us to play some Lynyrd Skynyrd. I've been down that road and now bounce from one trailer park to another selling meth. It's a deadly spiral. Just kidding. "Danceable variety" can still rock hard though. I tend to like a heavy dosage of the 70's, 80's when music was fun and the musicians knew how to play their instruments. But there has to be 1 or 2 songs that are good that are current. Not really. Very simply whatever songs are good and people enjoy from any era, old to current. I work a full-time job so occasional weekend gigs desired I'm serious about playing the songs right I am a normal straight up guy I demand honest interaction between band members I play for fun. No other reason I don't play for the money. I will come prepared and expect the same as the rest of the band I can do fill-in work, I'm ok to only join the band for better playing gigs when you can afford to add another musician No garage band jam situation
