We are looking for another full-time caregiver to ad to our team! We are a family that has a team of individuals working with our sons with Autism. for this particular position we are looking for someone capable, enthusiastic, kind-hearted, positive, and resilient person to work from 6:00 am-2:00 pm with our oldest son. We have a house manager/ behavioral tech who manages, schedules, training, hiring, ILS, etc... who has been with us for 16+ years. she is great with the boys, training and working with our staff. We have an additional full-time caregiver who works in conjunction with her. We also have two additional part-time caregivers. We are a very upbeat, BUSY, and friendly household. We are looking for someone who has the desire, compassion, and heart for this line of work. R. is a 25-year-old young man with Autism. He is a kind, gentle, sweet, and funny young man. He loves movies, pasta, cold stone, and his family. His disability can be quite severe when it comes to communication, understanding the world around him, and keeping himself safe. While he has a very silly, sweet, and upbeat personality who loves to play. laugh and joke with you. He can get overwhelmed and sad especially during his morning transition from his sleep to waking state. He can be quite loud in the AM with yelling and verbal scripting (repeating of phrases very loudly) He is NOT aggressive and has NEVER hurt anyone while upset. He needs some help getting started on a positive note with his day-- that's where you come in! We need someone who can help keep him comapny, reassure him, help him with is language and asking for what he needs, and get him involved in his own life! We both work full-time in a fast-paced business setting and really need help in the early AM when he wakes up. We need someone who; 1) Has at least one year of caregiving experience in-home or in a facility. (Experience with Autism a huge plus) 2) High school Diploma or Equivalent 3) Fluent in English 4) Pass a DOJ background check 5) 21 years or older (Non-negotiable) 6) Valid CA driver's license (Non-negotiable) 7) Ability to manage yourself and your time effectively 8) COMPASSIONATE and PATIENT 9) Ability to be flexible and deal with high-stress situations effectively and with kindness. 10) Must be able to lift 20lbs 11) Must be quick on your feet Example duties: -Light housekeeping; pertaining to R. and his needs and spaces -Meal prep -Help with independent living skills -Companionship -Medication administration -Accompanying him and other staff on outings -Running errands The position is Monday-Friday 6 am-2 pm.
