Event Description: Help us run a drive thru pop-up food pantry at College Park. We need help setting up, gathering names, placing boxes of food into trunks of cars, traffic control, and breakdown at this site. Placing boxes into the cars is labor intensive - you will either need to be able to pick up a 40lb box or stand for long periods of time. Registration and traffic control is not labor intensive. When: Every Wednesday Volunteer shifts: Registration start at 12:30 (or last car is registered) Registration is critical in the distribution. Client shows you their ID through the window. You write down the first and last name, zip code, and number in household (HH). Place a ticket on car windshield. 1 ticket for 1-4 HH and 2 for 5+HH. Easy job ends once all cars are registered. 1:30PM- 4:30 PM help where needed volunteers from Location: College Park, 3250 South Rose Ave., Oxnard, CA Parking: Park across the street behind fresh and easy (Corner of Rose and Channel Islands) or street parking on Raider’s way. Do not park in the Channel Islands high school parking lot. Attire: casual clothing, closed toed shoes. If outside no mask required. Disposable gloves will be provided and required. You MUST be 12 years of age or older to volunteer at a pop-up site. No exceptions. Parent supervision is still required on-site for ages 12-16. No court/probation service hours will be honored for helping at a pop-up site. Please contact Volunteer Department at Food Share. We rely on your help.
