Opportunities for year-round employment RESULTS STATEMENT The Plant Health Care Lawn Technician ensures that clients are satisfied with their deep green, weed free and healthy property as a result of properly, accurately and efficiently mixing and applying fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, miticides, and insecticides. TACTICAL WORK Identifies trees, shrubs, and plants to make sure the right plants are treated Identifies plant diseases, deficiencies, and insects to determine the appropriate course of action Inspects landscaping to determine the best treatment option, depending on weather, plant conditions, and environment Wears and maintains the proper PPE according to OSHA requirements Starts motors and engages machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps on spray equipment Cleans and services all machinery used at the business to ensure operating efficiency using water, gasoline, lubricants, cleaning agents, and hand tools Equips backpacks, accurately mixing chemicals as needed Creates efficient application and sequence strategies Sprays every square foot of irrigated lawn when possible Creates strategies to avoid plant injury Maintains consistent speed and overlap while spraying lawns Safely drives truck Promptly enters correct information into Aspire Maintains truck and spray equipment, avoiding structure and equipment damage Exhibits willingness to work on any company crew is expected (BSS prefers and provides opportunities for year-round employment) Performs additional duties as assigned, such as pruning, dragging tree limbs, carrying logs and branches to clean up yards, raking yards, aerating lawns, snow removal, and irrigation work MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 18 years of age or older Legal, valid, unrestricted, driver's license, with no DUIs in the past 3 years or multiple infractions Must be able to work through the end of October PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS (Essential and Frequent) Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling Lifting and raising objects up to 55 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position, to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles Fingering, grasping, feeling, repetitive motion Talking and hearing Subject to changing environmental conditions
