Seeking volunteers to hand out food to homeless people in Copley Squar

Boylston street near Dartmouth Street, Boston MA

Description

Hello - I have started a charitable organization in memory of my son Doug, who died this past March 4, at age 28, from a heroin overdose. Doug was a "foodie", and a professional server in high-end restaurants in Boston and Manhattan. He was also homeless for a time during his fight with addiction. Doug was also a member of the LGBTQ community, so we especially welcome volunteers who support inclusion of everyone! We plan to give out donated packaged foods and bottled water, as well as making PB&J sandwiches on the spot. We will be set up on Mondays, Thurdays, and Sundays, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., near the Boylston Street entrance to the Boston Public Library. If you've been affected by homelessness or addiction, or you just want to help, we would love to have you! We will be providing vinyl gloves and surgical masks for all who are helping. Many hands make light work! All donations of fresh sliced bread, peanut butter, and all kinds of jelly, are cheerfully accepted, as are cash donations. Please feel free to contact me for more details.
