Description

Hi there - thanks for checking out this post. I'm a musician and songwriter that has started to work on mixing and mastering music and I'm looking to get some more experience working with other artists. Given that I'm new to working in this area, I'm offering to work at a lower rate than you would get going through a studio, and I won't ask you to pay for anything until you're happy with the result. I would just ask that if you use my work that I be credited on the relevant release. The way I see it, this is a win-win -- you don't pay anything if you're not happy with the mix, and I get more experience in the field. If you hate what I come up with, you can ditch it and move on. A bit more context - I'm in my 30's and have a steady 9-to-5. Practically speaking, that means I can't take on a huge project right out of the gate. I'd love to start working on an individual song, and if you like what you hear we can go from there for working out an EP or record. As far as nitty-gritty, I work in Logic - but if you can get me stems for your tracks, I can work with those. I feel most comfortable working with rock, indie, punk, pop, metal and electronica. I'd love to get experience working with hip-hop, but there's a very good chance you wouldn't be happy with the end result. That said - if you're willing to chance it, I'm more than willing to give it a shot! Finally, I'm in Seattle, but you don't need to be. I recently mixed and mastered my band's record, which you can listen to here: https://fixturesband.bandcamp.com/, and here's a link to two versions of a song off the record to check out to compare pre- and post-mixing and mastering: https://soundcloud.com/finite-arc. There are two versions of the Interlude song - a "raw" version with minimal processing, and a "master" version which has been mixed and brought up to master volume. Hopefully, even if this isn't a genre you're interested in it gives you a way to A/B test the two versions and gives you a sense of how I can potentially enhance your songs. Thanks for reading, and sorry for the length. Feel free to get in touch if this sounds interesting.
