Performs laundry duties for Environmental Services in the cleaning of clothes and linens for residents, Health Care, and Arbor Acres. Hours: M-F 8A – 430P Job Relationships 1. Reports to and is supervised by the Laundry Supervisor and Facility Services Director. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Ensures that linen is properly separated into different classifications. 2. Uses chart to load and properly set washing cycles. 3. Accurately record items and weight of all loads of laundry. 4. Uses proper personal protective equipment when caring for soiled laundry. 5. Makes sure that appropriate wash cycle is selected to ensure proper cleaning and safety for all employees and residents at Arbor Acres. Typical Physical Demands 1. Ability to stand for long periods of time. 2. Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs. of linen. 3. Ability to walk extensively, to squat, bend, kneel, climb to reach 8 ft. ceilings, and reach above shoulders. 4. Needs sense of sight, hearing, smell and touch. 5. Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemical and tolerate the presence of dust. 6. Must be able to successfully complete the Functional Testing program. This program assists in determining whether applicants/employees are able to safely perform essential job functions. Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility. 2. Work habits must include: regular attendance, punctuality, teamwork, willingness to learn, initiative, dependability, and promptness. 3. Ability to communicate with residents, family members, and other staff. 4. Ability to pay attention to detail and utilize equipment properly. 5. Must be able to thoroughly read, write, speak, and understand the English language. 6.
