On March 6, 2022, the Punta Gorda Rotary Club hosts its 14th Annual Taste of Punta Gorda and Beyond at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda, Florida On March 6, 2022, the Punta Gorda Rotary Club hosts its 14th Annual Taste of Punta Gorda and Beyond at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. The 14th Annual Taste of Punta Gorda and Beyond is the season's major culinary event, featuring 32 plus restaurants from Punta Gorda and nearby communities serving “tastes” of signature dishes. Additionally, some 80 arts, crafts, and non-profits will participate; there will be a "don't miss" Silent Auction and a Rotary Village with nearby clubs and Rotary District 6960 featuring Rotary's many humanitarian and charitable projects. There will be a special Fun Kids’ Zone and musical entertainment all day, featuring the BoogieMen and other to-be-named musical groups! FAQs What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is free parking at the Laishley Crab House, immediately next to the park, in the County Court House lots on Marion Ave and Nesbit St. Additional parking east of the County Court House on Marion Ave, and on downtown streets and in the downtown parking garage between Hwy 41 North and Taylor St. off Herald Court. Although it is a short walk from downtown, we hope to have a shuttle service. What can I bring into the event? Bring a camp chair to sit and enjoy the music. Dollar bills for the $1 to $3 restaurant tastes. An ATM will be on site. What does a VIP ticket get? "Give a lot & get a little extra" by supporting the Punta Gorda Rotary Club Foundation (free beverage, seat in "Rotary Angel" VIP tent right by the stage, additional beverage service, special recognition). It is a supporter of many community charitable programs. Through its charity and education foundation (a 501c3), last year it gave over $35,000 in grants to youth projects and programs, Habitat for Humanity, the Harry Chapin Food Bank, Shelter Box, Hurricane Michael relief, and others. The Taste of Punta Gorda is one of the Rotary Foundation's major fundraiser during the year.
