Explore natural plant & vegetable dyes during a two day workshop at Vecino Victory Garden In this two day hands on workshop, I will guide you through the process of natural plant & vegetable dyeing. Each participant will leave with the knowledge of preparing the fiber/textiles for dyeing, harvesting of plants, mordanting & modifying processes, and playing with tying & folding techniques to create patterns. The cost includes all dye materials & supplies. Often, textiles need several hours or overnight to absorb the dye fully. On the second day of the workshop, Sunday September 19th (9-1 pm), we will take our dyed fabrics to the next level. We will experiment with color modifiers to alter the color from the first dye bath, if desired. Time permitting, each participant will create a swatch booklet to take home with their dyed samples. She weaves together her love of plants and her passion for natural fibers and design.
