JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Another online scam is targeting Jefferson County's older population, officials warned. The 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office has received multiple calls from residents who received an electronic statement from Amazon that shows an invoice for a large purchase, which needs "immediate attention," the office said. "The invoice looks real and contains the Amazon logo," the DA's office said in a fraud alert. The office is offering several tips to determine whether the invoice is false: Click on the logo and see if a box appears around itHover your mouse over the sender to see the real email addressLook to see if the URL is different than the website (Example: amazonx.com, instead of amazon.com) Don't miss the latest news updates in Arvada, Lakewood and Littleton. "Don't reply to the email or call the number they listed. Do a computer search for the company, find their customer service number, and call that number.
