Drummer looking to make local connections

Description

I moved back to SLO with my family about a year ago after being away for 24 years. I’m still driving up to the Bay Area to play gigs, which is quickly getting old. I’m hoping to make some local music connections so I don’t have to rely so heavily on my Bay Area music scene to get my fix. Here’s a very quick and dirty summary of my musical activities over the years: I grew up here in SLO, played in classic rock cover bands and the jazz band at SLO High, moved to Berkeley for undergrad, studied jazz and West African drumming, played Tuesday nights at the Boom Boom Room in SF for 2+ years in a funky jazz outfit (Herbie, Meters, Scofield, MMW, etc.), toured in festival circuit bands for 10+ years (including Hot Buttered Rum, an Americana/bluegrass band), got off the road when kids came along, played Grateful Dead music and classic rock covers with Stu Allen in Northern California for the past 5+ years. Some Studio and Live Recordings I’ve Played On (in reverse date order, with live stuff picked at random after a quick Google search): Stu Allen & Mars Hotel: 1) Jerry Day 2019 (live) -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMX1OJibw3M 2) 10-31-17 @ Terrapin Crossroads (live) -https://archive.org/details/SAMH2017-10-31.StuAllenMarsHotel2017-10-31.flac16/StuAllenMarsHotel2017-10-31d3T02.flac Hot Buttered Rum: 1) The Kite & the Key, Pt. 1 - EP (2015) 2) Live in the Sierra (2015) 3) Hot Buttered Rum (2014) 4) Feb 15, 2015 @ State Room, SLC, UT (live) -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARU1YXz80AE&list=RDC4Zl9fyVSZw&index=4 5) March 22, 2014 @ Gothic Theater, CO (w/ Bill Nershi from String Cheese Incident) (live) -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O46NLWNAoEM Izabella: 1) Drugs and Apple Pie (2009) 2) In the West (2008) 3) Dream When You Sleep (2007) Earlier Bands: not really worth mentioning ;) It’s been too long since I’ve been in an original music project, so that would certainly be appealing. Style-wise, I’m open to just about anything, so long as the music speaks to me. My primary objective is to simply play music. I have a full time day job, so I’m not looking to pay rent with gig money. I look forward to hearing from you and finding out more about your drummer needs and the music you are creating. Lucas
