Entry to Jefferson School African American Heritage Center During the pandemic we will be operating with limited hours. Our permanent exhibition Pride Overcomes Prejudice is available Tuesday -Friday 1pm-6pm and Saturday 10 am -1 pm. Our contemporary gallery is open with a new exhibition Adama Delphine Fawundu: Radiance from the Waters on view May 29-August 28. To ensure we maintain a safe space we are limiting group visits to no more than 10 people. If you are a group and interested in a tour please contact our education department at [email protected]. The Jefferson School African American Heritage Center’s mission is to honor and preserve the rich heritage and legacy of the African-American community of Charlottesville-Albemarle, Virginia and to promote a greater appreciation for, and understanding of, the contributions of African Americans and peoples of the Diaspora locally, nationally and globally.
