Skate Albany connects & empowers all humans to skateboard! COME SKATE WITH US!! Skate Albany connects & empowers all humans to skateboard! NWR hosts monthly skate meet-ups which gives participants a safe space to network, enhance skating skills, & access resources for holistic wellness. The Skate Albany meet-ups are centered around building & shining a light upon the skate community to highlight healthy activity for all humans. We serve all humans, especially those who are often underrepresented in skateboarding such as women, LGBTQ+ and non-binary humans. NWR wants to unify & enhance the Capital Region’s skate community for all walks of life! We focus on the resiliency of our participants to help them reach their full potential. We provide water, light refreshments, skateboards and protective gear to borrow!! Free skate lessons, fundraising raffles, merch, vendors, music & more. We are located in Albany, NY and host all of our Skate Albany meet-ups at the Albany skate park in Washington Park. NWR emphasizes the importance of self-esteem, courage and bravery. In expressing high self-esteem, participants can grow as a skater and encourage others to do the same. All participants are suggested to wear masks especially near groups of people. The skate park is a public park for ALL humans where they should feel comfortable to skate, bike, roller skate or scooter. If you need a skateboard or protective gear to borrow you must request to sign them out by one of the volunteers for the remainder of your use. If you would like skate lessons you need to request support from us. Whatever you bring, take with you. If you see something unsafe or not okay please say something. Skate Albany Meet-ups hosted every 2nd Saturday of the month 12-3pm!
