Enjoy a rare walking tour of the Mills College Campus nestled on 135 verdant acres with 10,000 trees, its own lake and 3 creeks. Enjoy a rare walking tour of the Mills College Campus nestled on 135 verdant acres with 10,000 trees, its own lake and 3 creeks. You will enter the campus on Richards Road featuring an alee of London Plane trees considered one of the 100 most beautiful streets in the world according to Alan Jacobs in his book, Great Streets. The tour will start at Mills Hall built in 1871, which is on the National Historic Register and renovated after the Loma Prieta earthquake. Other stops include the iconic El Campanil bell tower built in 1904, the Margaret Carnegie Library, 1906, and Alumnae Hall, 1916, all designed by acclaimed architect, Julia Morgan. We will also see many buildings designed by Walter Ratcliff, Jr. dating from the mid-20s to the mid-40s.  Moderate walking, wheelchair accessible.
