HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Families looking for a fun outdoor activity can embark upon a private pirate adventure benefitting organizations and programs. HoCo Pirate Adventures involves aspiring sea lovers to embark upon a journey down a one-mile path located somewhere in Howard County - the location stays hush hush - that is transformed into a trail of clues left behind by siblings Captain Evie and First Mate Sawyer. According to Pirate Adventures, participants join the mission, print off a map and follow the five clues planted along the path that ends with treasures. Kids are challenged to decipher codes to figure out each clue and they are broken down by age. The trail opens up for approximately 10 days at the end of each month. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite pirate gear and take lots of photos to share on Pirate Adventures' Facebook page. The cost to engage in this adventure is $5 per family and up to $20 for 20 pirates. This month's pirate adventure will support The Howard County Police Department's youth programs. Proceeds in September will be given to The Magic Yarn Project, a non-profit dedicated to brightening spirits of young cancer patients. To learn more about Pirate Adventures, click here.
