HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Two Hackettstown Girl Scouts were among 14 girls recognized by the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey for selling over 1,000 boxes of cookies during the 2021 Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Faith Feldman sold 1,048 cookie packages, GSNNJ said in a news release. She is a "junior," the designation given to Girl Scouts in fourth or fifth grade.
Kaylee Sinwich sold 1,003 cookie packages, GSNNJ said in the news release. She is a "brownie," the designation given to Girl Scouts in second or third grade.
Feldman, Sinwich and the 12 other girls were honored at a ceremony on Aug. 4 alongside Betty Garger, president and CEO of GSNNJ.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world, according to GSNNJ. Program participants learn goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
"Despite reports of a national cookie surplus, GSNNJ did not face any surplus this season thanks to members' innovative selling techniques, new e-commerce offerings, and an online cookie donation program," GSNNJ said in the news release.
