"Over the last seven days we averaged 81 new cases each day and all indications point to that number continuing to increase in the days ahead," said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. "This does not mean that the vaccines are ineffective. In fact, all available evidence suggests the opposite. Vaccinated people make up just a handful of these cases each day. The overwhelming majority of those getting infected, and even more so those going to the hospital, are unvaccinated." To date, 309,589 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 281,040 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state's COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov. The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
