BAY AREA, CA — Stanford University graduate Maggie Steffens, one of the world's best water polo players, took home her third Olympic gold medal at the 2021 games in Tokyo this year. Steffens, a Danville native, previously brought home the gold in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. Steffens is team captain. The games were quiet without visitors, she told NBC Bay Area, "but I could hear the Bay Area very loud." "We did that. We did THAT," she wrote on Twitter. "3x Olympic Gold Medalist baby!"
