Description

UPPER MERION, PA — Lanes on Route 202 will be shut down next week as construction gets underway on the Chester Valley Trail, marking the latest growth in the regional trail network. The right lane will be closed in both directions at Saulin Boulevard from Monday, Aug. 16 to Saturday, Aug. 21. The closure will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., PennDOT said. Construction crews will complete various work related to improving the trail's mobility and accessibility, including paving. The Chester Valley Trail, founded in 1991, roughly follows Route 202 for more than 14 miles from Upper Merion through Chesterbrook, Tredyffrin, Great Valley, and East Whiteland, to Exton. A 3.8 mile extension to to the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown is under construction, and a 20 mile extension out to Lancaster County has been proposed. Motorists who plan to use 202 should allow extra time to travel as delays are possible.
