Tuscaloosa Police Identify Pedestrian Killed On 15th Street

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department has identified a pedestrian who died from his injuries Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle on 15th Street Wednesday night. The victim was identified as Juan Lucas, 33, of Tuscaloosa. TPD stood by its previous announcement that it does not appear criminal actions contribution to the accident while also saying investigators do not anticipate any criminal charges being filed. He was unable to stop before striking him going roughly 35 miles per hour — according to the driver and witnesses.
