Looking for a couple of like minded funky mofos who want to play that sweet sweet funk. I have a 9-5 and a couple of rugrats. I need to play that sweet sweet funky bass to stay sane. Im not looking to play out all the time, or take over the world. A gig every once in a while is enough to keep me happy. I have plenty of places that will book from years in the bar band scene If we end up there. i already have a bunch of guys I play with periodically so can probably fill in some blanks. They are great to hang with but tend to stay in the classic rock genre. I'm definitely going to keep rocking with those guys every once in a while. I have pro gear and a great attitude. Pick things up pretty quickly, and do my homework. i come to practice ready to jam. The whole point is to have FUN. Im not the flashiest player but I hit it on the one every time, lock in with the drummer, and keep it in the pocket. I would love doing all that classic funk like the Isley Brothers, Bootsy, Herbie Hancock, Meters, Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone, Rick James, James Brown, anything duck dunn ( crossover stuff like She Caught the Katy is great ), james jamerson, some modern stuff like chili peppers or whatever floats the boat. drop me a line if this sounds like something you're into and we can work out the details.
