Sorry, Afghanistan. We Meant Well

In a matter of days, possibly weeks, the Afghanistan government will cease to exist. Then the reign of terror from the Taliban will descend upon them. Only this time it will be much worse. The Taliban now has more equipment and weapons than the Afghan army. Where did they get it? From us. All the equipment and weapons we gave the Afghans have been laid on the ground and abandoned. The Taliban only has to pick them up off the ground. After 20 years, the Afghans will be in a significantly worse position than if we had never set foot on their soil. It's the same thing we did in Iraq...the same thing we did in Viet Nam. Will we finally learn not to do this? I doubt it.
