I seek a female intern to help re-set up an art studio in Albuquerque. 45-60 to setup a stained glass and copper enameling studio in ABQ. During this time and in return for the work I will teach you everything I know about these art forms and you will be able to use a kiln to create copper and sterling enamel designs where the options are nearly limitless. Stained glass is more widely known and you would be learning about both copper foil and leaded glass. Copper foil is more Tiffany style. Copper and sterling enamel as an art form is simply losing to commercial interests. At the end you will have learned how to make colorful fused glass at hi-heat to semi-precious metals with vibrant colors and unique designs. I have severe heart problems and arteriosclerosis and get around with a cane that is why I am bartering this help. I have real-world experience with stained glass, I worked for others over the years three different companies cutting stained glass. I would make the piece but the studio owners would sign them with their name and I did not like that. Anything you create as a result of this internship would be signed by you the artist. You would be working with a desktop kiln at about 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. That entails using a leather glove and a spatula to remove the enameled pieces from the kiln and set them aside to cool. They will change color as they cool and thats always exiting. You would also be working with an HP plotter that will print full sized images poster sized There is also periodic picture framing for certain projects so there would be a fair amount of work with other power-tools as well. This is a very serious offer where at the end you will be an enamel and stained glass artist trained by an experienced artisan. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19, I am. Must not be afraid of power tools and will be taught to use them. Being able to read a tape measure would be extremely helpful. First we have to put everything back and make improvements. We would work together to create a working studio to be proud of and be able to sell our wares at the Santa Domingo vendor market and other assorted venues transporting the jewelry in a cargo trailer and setting up a booth. That aspect will have you learning about loss-leaders such as people watchers that generate interest and give something for people cheap to buy so they don't feel guilty for buying nothing else.
