Description

Join us as we celebrate our five year journey from a homeless encampment to a beautiful building helping over 700 guests each year! Our journey began in 2016, when the Hope Center opened our doors to assist the homeless. Each year, over 700 guests have crossed the threshold to be offered a place of dignity through hospitality. Hope Center opened with one shower, handmade meals, and donated clothing, all on a wing and a prayer! Today we continue to offer basic human necessities, and so much more to help transition and transform those in need! You are invited to join us for dinner, a building tour, stories of hope, and live music by "Fellowship of the Swing"! We are celebrating YOU and sharing our thanks for walking beside us on our journey. Working together in the northwest area of Houston, we have created a faith based space providing essential physical, mental, and spiritual needs for adult men and women experiencing homelessness. This space allows our "guests" to restore their dignity, acquire skills to regain confidence, finding paths out of homelessness, and stepping up to become contributing citizens of our community. Hope Center Houston, established in August 2016, is a faith based community providing for essential physical, mental, and spiritual needs in order to restore dignity and to encourage and empower those seeking a way out of homelessness. Our vision is to provide a place where they can be safely cared for while being given the opportunity to acquire skills and confidence to become contributing citizens of our community. Our facility is located north of FM 1960 and just west of HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest. There, our guests can safely gather, share meals, participate in weekly chapel, bible studies and prayer groups. They also can use shower and laundry facilities and obtain clean clothing. To enable transition to housing and employment, we offer counseling services, identification help, job search and placement services through a partnership with Workforce. The Harris County Sheriff's Department Homeless Outreach Team is a community resource located in our building. As with all non-profits, Hope Center Houston relies on the generosity of donors and volunteers who wish to transform the lives of those in Northwest Houston experiencing homelessness. Please refer to our website for more information about us. Join us in helping to transition people off the streets and into productive lives. Hope Center Houston is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. www.hopecenterhouston.org
