Young entrepreneur and professional hair extension specialist Brea Green is well on her way to being named among the next generation of beauty bosses before she reaches the age of 30, while following the path created by her predecessors—her family. In 1915, Brea’s family founded Franklin Beauty School in Houston, Texas. Brea is now a part of Franklin Beauty School’s fifth generation, and is proving that her lineage is also an integral part of her destiny.Brea was born in 1995 and grew up watching her mother working as a hair stylist in the beauty school and hair salon. With a mother who spent 20 years as a hair stylist and a long- standing family cosmetology business as her foundation, it was not long before Brea decided to take up cosmetology on her own.At 14, Brea began practicing various hairstyles on her high-school classmates. Upon graduating from high school, Brea went on to cosmetology school and obtained her cosmetology license in 2014 with a specialization in natural extensions. Brea’s styling aesthetic of neat and natural hair generated an opportunity for her to expand the business of natural beauty even further—hair and lashes. That opportunity materialized in early 2017 with the launch of CrownedHAIR, Brea’s hair and lash line CrownedLASH.To have obtained a cosmetology license, have obtained an Associates Degree in business management, have launched a business, and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors Degree in organizational leadership and supervision at the age of 21 is an exceptional feat. Yet for Brea, her foundation centered on God, her parents, her vision, and her values have helped make all of it possible and not lose sight of what truly makes one a boss—giving back and helping others.
