“A Day of Apples and Art,” the first “traveling” event for a proposed New England Museum of Apple and Cider, will be held at Sholan Farms.
Ongoing: food trucks, cider tasting, apple vendors, giveaways (Russell’s books, NEAA 2022 wall calendar, orchards can provide merchandise or a coupon to encourage visitors in the fall), artifacts on display (ie, old cider press).
10:00 am - Morning walking tour of the farm with cider and donuts at the end
10:00 am - Painting the farm workshop for adults
10:30 am - Kids’ workshop: Art making
11 - 11:20 am - Talk by Mark Richardson, Tower Hill Botanical Gardens on its orchard
11:00 am - noon - Music in the orchard (cellist?)
11:00 am - 1:00 pm Plein-air painters around the orchard
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Art scavenger hunt
2:00 pm - 2:20 pm Talk by Russell Powell on early variety apples
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm - Music trio
3:30 pm - 4:30 Photographing the orchard workshop
