Description

Tell your story through dance in this fun, creative movement workshop. Then get your chance to perform at the BTR festival. STORIES IN MOTION Movement allows you to unleash emotions, energy and ideas that often surprise, excite and unite. Immerse yourself in a workshop of embodied storytelling and tell your story from a place of deep knowledge. In the words of Martha Graham, “The body never lies”. Let your body tell your story. Taught by 2 local professionals, Rachel Balaban and Katie Moorhead, who will guide you through a journey of self-reflection and storytelling with movement as the medium. You will discuss ideas, choreograph the story and then move together in dance. The event is at the Edward King House in Newport, RI from 7:00-9:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 27th. You will then have the option to perform your story/dance with Katie and Rachel, at this year's Born to Rise™ Women's Story festival on October 2nd from 5:00-9:00 PM. You will need a ticket for that event to be able to perform. This is an image from last years performance at the outdoor festival. It was magical and ended our night in such a beautiful way. Kim Fuller is a photographer, author, Tedex speaker, Buddhist and mindfulness coach. She is the mother of two birth children and one adopted son who she writes about in her book “Finding, the story of a young boy who became his adoptive mother’s greatest spiritual teacher.” After meeting the Dalai Lama and starting her Buddhist and meditation practice fourteen years ago, she developed a mindfulness method called P.A.U.S.E. that she teaches in workshops, retreats and with private coaching clients, to show them how to create peace and possibility in relationship with self and others. She also takes her mindfulness skills into her photography sessions working with heart-centered entrepreneurs to help them authentically express themselves, attract their ideal clients and get photos that up-level their brand.
