CommUNITY Paint Day CommUNITY Paint Day is an exciting compliment to the grant funded traffic calming measures already in place along 9th Street between Grove Avenue and Vineyard Avenue. Surrounding neighborhood residents and Los Amigos Elementary School community members are invited to volunteer to help paint a large mural in the traffic circle located at the intersection of 9th Street and Baker Avenue. The mural will help create a sense of place in the neighborhood and will provide a visual element to encourage drivers to reduce their speed. This community design effort is progressing with the help of community partner, Music Changing Lives. Be sure to say hello and check out the sidewalk murals that their team of artists worked so hard on in recent weeks. *** In the interest of community health and safety, only a total of 10 volunteers will be able to volunteer during each half-hour time slot. Event Staff will be emailing participants their assigned time slot. Separate registrations are needed for every member of your household participating in CommUNITY Paint Day. *** Healthy RC has been a successful City-community partnership since 2008, receiving national recognition for our work to improve community health.
