Learn the basics of constructing a tunnel book. 3-Hour Workshop Date: Saturday, October 16, 2021 Time: 10am-1pm Description: A tunnel book (aka peepshow book) is a set of pages bound with accordions on either side and viewed through a central opening, using multiple layers of foreground, middle ground, and background, to create a three dimensional scene. Students will learn the basics of constructing a tunnel book by creating their own miniature paper world. Students will leave with their own simple tunnel book and the knowledge to create something more elaborate. Tuition: $55 + $10 materials fee Materials: Students should bring any imagery you would like to use in your book. This could be several copies of the same picture to cut up into foreground, middle, background, or individual images with different elements you would like to collage together into the final book. All other materials will be provided. Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) COVID-19: In accordance with current CDC guidance - we are recommending all visitors wear a mask. Please note that the recommendation applies to teaching artists, resident artists, students and guests attending events taking place at CC. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks. About the Artist Amelia Kieras is an illustrator and paper artist, who loves to create strange stories, weird pictures, and fun pop-up cards. She has a BFA in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
