An evening of poetry with three local Pittsburgh poets Joan E. Bauer Joan E. Bauer is the author of two poetry collections, The Almost Sound of Drowning (Main Street Rag, 2008) and The Camera Artist (Turning Point, 2021). She is a proud Madwoman (Carlow University) and for some years worked as an English teacher and educational counselor. Recent poems have appeared in Paterson Literary Review, Slipstream, Spillway and Chiron Review. She lives mostly in Pittsburgh, PA where she co-hosts and curates the Hemingway's Summer Poetry Series with Kristofer Collins. She can be found on Twitter @Joan_E_Bauer. Gail Langstroth Raised under the Big Skies of Montana, Langstroth is a tri-lingual lecturer, international eurythmy performer, translator, poet and film artist. She is a graduate of Drew University’s M.F.A. in poetry, winner of the Patricia Doblar Poetry Prize, 2011, and poetry editor for the European art journal Cyte Magazin. Get Fresh Books released Langstroth’s bilingual firegarden / jardín-de-fuego, (2020). Voiced: words from asphalt, Langstroth’s recent film, is being showcased in European festivals, (2021). Langstroth teaches and performs internationally. STAHLWORTE / STEELWORDS, a nine-part performance piece based on conversations with the work of Pittsburgh sculptor Dee Briggs, premieres October, 2021, (Holland). Alongside her work as the movement consultant for the Lemington Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh she is a mentor for Carlow University’s Madwomen in the Attic writing workshops. www.wordmoves.com Nina Padolf Uprooted, Nina Padolf’s new collection of narrative poetry released July 2021, invites the reader through the trials being adopted and overcoming life’s hurdles. Padolf co-edited: Nasty Women and Bad Hombres Poetry Anthology, (Lascaux Editions, 2017); Is It Hot in Here or Is it Just Me: Women Over Forty Write on Aging, (Social Justice Anthologies, Amazon, 2019). She has a Doctorate in Education from Argosy University, an MFA in Creative Writing from Carlow University, and a MAT from Chatham University. She has taught college courses for 15 years. She is inspired by nature and real-life experiences. Her passion is to instruct others on how to use creative writing as a tool to explore trauma and recovery.
