Join FPRA Pensacola as we install the new 2021-2022 board of directors and hear from Mikia Carter as she speaks about strategies she took to go from surviving to thriving when nature’s circumstances were less than ideal. Speaker Bio: Mikia Carter is a 31-year-old breast cancer thriver, published author, small business owner, doctoral student, inclusion advocate, and fitness enthusiast. She moved to Pensacola in 2012 from Oxford, AL to complete her master's degree at UWF in College Student Affairs Administration and hasn't looked back since. She is currently the Associate Director for Student Engagement at UWF where she is also pursuing her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Assessment. Small talk gives her hives, but she is always open for a local coffee shop chat. The Florida Public Relations Association is the oldest public relations association in the United States. FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and innovative practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida.
